This catalogue is published in conjunction with an exhibition of Swiss design at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery marking 150 years of Swiss-Japanese diplomatic relations. In celebrating the exchanges that exist between the two nations in the fields of art and design, it presents Switzerland as a country not only defined by its mountains, trains, and cheese but also by a long tradition of technology, innovation, and craftsmanship. Functionality, precision, and quality are all values that are respected and appreciated in Japan, and are likewise the hallmarks of Swiss design. Featuring work by Le Corbusier, Max Huber, Mario Botta, Emil Ruder, Armin Hofmann, and much more.
