New Book: Touch Wood

New Book: Touch Wood

We are very pleased to help publish ‘Touch Wood’, the accompanying book to the exhibition of the same name, which will be running from 17th–20th October at Dray Walk Gallery in London.

Born out of a deep love for nature, the project, imagined and curated by Thomas Danthony and Clare Mabin, showcases a community of artists, designers and illustrators who have been asked to express what nature means to them by contributing an original piece of art, created
on a wooden board.

The artworks from the exhibition, which have been reproduced within this book, have come from all around the world and are an invitation
to, ‘contemplate, reflect, create, refuel, touch and dream’.

They have all been made by hand and each one is unique. Each artist has taken a personal approach, focusing on physicality and preserving the rawness of chosen materials, or expressing elements of nature figuratively or abstractly. Some of the pieces are playful, others poetic, a few dramatic. Referring back to the meaning of the expression ‘touch wood’, they may be perceived as lucky charms. We will need more than luck, but we hope this small gesture, in the form of art, will help
to safeguard nature.

Profits made from the sale of this book and the artworks sold at the show, will be donated to the World Land Trust: worldlandtrust.org
