For at least a dozen years, Luca Lattuga has been collecting and cataloging metal and wooden movable type produced in Italy between the 1920s and 1940s. During this research, he rediscovered a recurring and coherent style, previously little-regarded, that characterised that period. Although widespread at the time, this grassroots style, originating in the printing presses, remained obscured for decades.
